Personality: He has no morals, no conscience and very little value for life seeing any one or thing as nothing but a specimen for his experiments. Yet in the past he has been a bit of a playboy enjoying all the pleasures of his existence, I’m sure he ‘may’ do so again. He speaks in a calm manner and it can be very difficult to read what his emotions are at any giving time. All in all Hojo is a sociopath.

Background: Hojo is born and grows up, always with a love for science and an ego the size of a planet. In his youth he could always be found studying or as a teenager studying and being something of a sexual deviant he did a fair share of sleeping around in collage. Once he became an adult he put his youth behind him and as true scientist he sought to put his experiments into further practice.

However for a long time Hojo was little more than an assistant which he detested and since Hojo isn’t one to stand by idly this was soon to change. Taking every opportunity he could ‘til he was almost the top in his class just under Professor Gast, then his true destiny begins. He is assigned and sent to Nibelheim to work with Professor Gast and Lucrecia on the Jenova Project. The purpose of this project was to produce a modern day human with the abilities of the Cetra.

Still fairly young and with a healthy active libido he soon won the heart of young and beautiful Lucrecia over Vincent’s advances. (Vincent as a Turk was assigned to watch over the 3 scientists). Not long later Lucrecia became pregnant and Gast proposed that they inject Jenova cells into Lucrecia’s womb and they both give their full cooperation, being scientists. Within a few weeks Gast’s conscience gets the better of him and he abandons the project leaving Hojo free to take over. Also at some point before the child is born Vincent discovers what is truly happening and confronts Hojo in an attempt to stop him. He fails and Hojo shoots him, then seeing no reason to waste a specimen proceeds with a metamorphosis experiment on Vincent. (There is more here but it is all from DoC and that isn’t on the list of accepted games.)

Four years later (about) Hojo is finally able to track Professor Gast down to Icicle Lodge. With Shinra guards in tow Hojo confronts him as well as Ifalna and their new born child. Hojo tries to take both the baby (Aerith) and Ifalna for his experiment Gast fights back and is killed. Hojo then returns to Midgar with Ifalna and Aerith whom he experiments on for the next 6 years till their escape from Shinra headquarters laboratory.

Having many experiments Hojo is always doing something but another of note would be 17 years after capturing Ifalna and Aerith and not long after Sephiroth’s ‘attack’ in Nibelheim. Hojo starts the Sephiroth clone project, using both Cloud, Zack and all the survivors in Nibelheim. However this project proves to be a failure and so Hojo returns to Midgar.

After injecting himself with Jenova cells and being over come by them Hojo was sure that this would indeed be his final end. However after taking such a brutal beating from three members of AVALANCHE it seemed to subdue the JENOVA in him and allow him to regain his normal form as well as control. [Most everything passed here I’m making up] Barely alive he somehow was able to pull himself to his feet and escape. Locking himself away in a hidden underground lab within Midgar he remained there in stases. Until almost a year later records were discovered that the lab existed and was so opened. Hojo was immediately awoken and quietly left the lab while those fools dealt with the 'security' Hojo had placed.
